On 26th April one of your friendly mechanics installed a control unit in my car and programmed it to my request. Since then, the performance of my XC 90 has changed beyond recognition - more torque with fewer revs per minute and consuming easily a litre less fuel over the same driving distances.

I bought a box at your workshop 6 months ago and having clocked up 30,000 km I’m still really satisfied with it. I’ve got a question about the winter though. Do I have to take the box out, or up to what temperature levels is it resistant? (Our comment: the systems are resistant to any degree of cold weather)

The new module is working perfectly! We’ve ascertained that we’re saving 5% on out fuel bills but with more power at the same time! It seems that because of the increased torque, the module kicks in earlier in the higher gears, avoiding the high-fuel-consumption revs per minute more often. Why don’t BMW do this?
